たった今、下宿の二階に帰ったところ。
廊下に誰かいた。
赤ん坊を抱えた夫婦、そして老婆が一人。
いぶかしむ。どうも心当たりがない。
「ええと、どちら様ですか？」
「あっ、あのですね」
日本語がよくわからない外国人のようだ。
はるばる私を訪ねてきたらしい。
奥にもひとつ部屋を借りているが
とりあえず、手前の部屋に案内する。
畳の上、絨毯のように布団が敷いてある。
まず、そこに老婆が座る。
続いて、寄り添うように子持ち夫婦が座った。
居座るつもり、満々である。
さて、どうしたものか。
いまだに彼らの素性がわからない。
Visit for Three Generations
I have just returned
to the second floor of the boarding house.
There was someone in the hallway.
A couple with a baby and an old woman.
I'm afraid. Apparently I have no idea of them.
"Um, who are you?"
"Oh, that's right."
They seem to be foreigners
who don't understand Japanese well.
They seem to have visited me all the way.
I rent a room in the back, but for the time being,
I will guide them to the room in front.
A futon is laid on the tatami mat like a carpet.
First, the old woman sits there.
Then, the couple with the child
sat down to snuggle up.
They are going to stay, full.
Well, what should I do?
I still don't know what they are.
