大きな川の土手の上にある空地。
そこを掃除するため、やって来た。
近くで工事があり、その残骸が残っている。
昨日も訪れ、今日で二日目だ。
老母がしゃがんで残骸を拾い集めていた。
近所の女や工事関係の男も作業中。
他愛ない世間話の声がする。
「朝から早いね」
声をかける。
「おまえ、よく来たね。
今日は来ないと思ってたよ」
「やる、と言ったから来ただけ。
やらなくてもいいなら、このまま帰るよ」
返事は期待してない。
どちらにしても
あまり気が乗らないことだけは確かだ。
Debris of Open Space
An open space on the bank of a large river.
I came to clean it.
There is construction work nearby,
and the wreckage remains.
I visited yesterday and today is the second day.
The old mother was crouching
and picking up the wreckage.
Neighboring women and construction-related men
are also working.
There is a lonely small talk voice.
"You are early in the morning."
I speak to them.
"You came often.
I thought you wouldn't come today."
"I just came because I said I'd do it.
If I don't have to do it, I'll go home as it is."
I don't expect a reply.
Either way, I'm pretty sure I don't feel like it.
