向こうから小型トラックが勢いよくバック。
その運転手は世話になった社長だった。
さすが見事な運転技術、と感心する。
こちらに気づかず、トラックは行ってしまった。
いつのまにか古い実家に戻っている。
和式便所のペニヤ板の蓋の端が汚れている。
便ではなく血のようだ。
濡れた裸足で、続いて素手で洗う。
難なく汚れが落ちたのでホッとする。
「ごめんください」
便所の入口の近く、玄関に来客だ。
お袋が返事して接客に出ようとする。
居間の引き戸の建付け悪く、なかなか開かない。
客の方でも手前の引き戸を開けようとする。
だが、その引き戸はこちらを押すので具合が悪い。
客の母娘に気づかれぬよう、引き戸を押し返す。
この母娘がお好み焼き屋を始めるらしく
その道具を借りに来訪したようだ。
