欲望を子ども扱いしてはならん。
なだめすかしたり殺したりするでなく
有効に生かすべきである。
満たされぬ欲望はすぐに消えない。
抑圧され、形をゆがめ
ときに邪悪な姿に変身してしまう。
悪意、ヒステリー、弱者いじめ、暴力など。
いかに欲望を手なずけるか
その技術と知恵を学ばねばならん。
無暗に行く手を塞き止めても
欲望という名の川が氾濫するだけだ。
わざわざ運河を掘ってやる必要はない。
掘る能力と資格と機会を与え
勝手に自分自身で掘らせればよい。
欲望が涸れてしまったら
もう人は死を待つばかりである。
だから、欲望は大人として扱いたい。
結実せよ、作品にせよ、と。

You must not treat the desire as a child.
You should use it effectively, not to deter or kill it.
The unfulfilled desire does not disappear immediately.
