僕は病気なんだ。
全身がだるくて、頭も重い。
悪いことばかり考えているせいだと思う。
ママが心配して、僕の額に手を当てる。
「今日は学校を休みなさい。熱があるわ」
優しいママの声が、どこか遠くで聞こえる。
学校？
なんだろう。
僕は思い出せない。
ママは黒い服を着て、大きな鎌を振り上げる。
猫のように笑う口が、耳まで裂けている。
「頭が重いのなら、切り落としてあげるわ」
僕は身動きできない。
鋭い鎌の刃が振り下ろされる。
そこで目が覚める。
･･･夢だったのだ。
いつの間にか、僕は眠ってしまったらしい。
ママがドアを開け、僕の部屋に入ってくる。
白い服。
大きな鎌なんか持ってない。
「さあ、飲みなさい。ママが作ったのよ」
取っ手付きのカップ。
僕はママを見上げる。
猫そっくりに笑う。
でも、口は裂けていない。
ベッドの上、僕は上体を起こす。
軽いめまいがする。
カップを握る指が震えるのはなぜだろう？
「色は悪いけど、温かくておいしいのよ」
カップの中の黒い液体。
歪んで映る顔。
飲む前に
そのママの顔を僕は見てしまう。

"Drink it now, I made it."

I look up at Mom.
Laughing exactly like a cat.
But her mouth has not split.
On the bed, I wake the upper body.
