レムは、宇宙の幽霊みたいなもの。
物質ではない。
存在しないものでもない。
うまく説明できないなにものかである。
しかし、レムは言う。
明らかに存在するもの
惑星や、そこに棲む生物の方こそあやしい、と。
宇宙そのものを含め、なにも存在しなければ
すっきりして、すんなり納得できる。
なのに、光とか物質とか、真空という状態とか
悲しみや殺意や、わけのわからないものが
いたるところに存在する。
それだから、まるで明確に存在を示すものの方が
むしろまともであるような印象を持ってしまう。
けれど、それは錯覚であり、経験に毒されている。
存在の曖昧な幽霊の如きものの方が
むしろ宇宙の住民としてふさわしい。
少なくとも、レムはそう考えている。
だからレムは、君たちを恐れる。
まるで当然な顔して存在する君たちを。
Rem
Rem is like a ghost in the universe.
Not a substance.
Not something that doesn't exist.
It is something I can't explain well.
But Rem says.
The ones that clearly exist, the planets,
and the creatures that live there are suspicious.
If nothing, including the universe itself, exists,
you can be convinced with a clean feeling.
However, there are light,
matter, vacuum, sadness, murder,
and incomprehensible things everywhere.
Therefore, it seems that something
that clearly shows existence is rather decent.
But it's an illusion,
and it's poisoned by experience.
The vague ghost of existence is more suitable
as a resident of the universe.
At least, Rem thinks so.
So Rem is afraid of you,
you who have a definite look.
