牛車(ぎっしゃ)がゆくよ　
ノロノロと　

すだれ下がった屋形の中にゃ　
やんごとなき姫君　おわします　

平安の世の作法なれば　
後ろから乗って　前より降りる　

これ知らずして　源義仲(みなもとのよしなか)　
後ろから降りて　笑いものになったとか　

牛飼童(うしかいわらわ)に牛ひかせ　
華美を競って　金銀錦(にしき)　

箱入りの　やんごとなき姫君よ　
ゆっくりゆっくり　どこへゆく　

よっぽどよっぽど　
歩いた方が早かろに
