駅のホーム、兄と一緒に列車を待っていた。
小柄な男が現れ、おぼつかない日本語。
「きれいな日の丸ですね」
菓子の入った紙袋のデザインを褒める。
そして、その兄の荷物に手を伸ばす。
危険を感じて私も手を伸ばす。
しかし、遅かった。
男は強引に兄から荷物を奪ってダッシュ。
「泥棒だ！ その男を捕まえてくれ！」
男は人混みのホームを円を描くように逃げ回る。
なぜ離れるように逃げ去らないのだろう。
目で追う。男はもう荷物を持っていない。
すでに、仲間に手渡されたのだ。
これでは逮捕しても物的証拠がない。
外国人に対する不信感が募る。
Hinomaru
At the station platform,
I was waiting for a train with my brother.
A small man appears and speaks in unpredictable Japanese.
"It's a beautiful Hinomaru."
He commends the design of the paper bag
with the confectionery.
Then he reaches for my brother's luggage.
I reach for the danger.
But it was late.
The man forcibly robbed my brother and started running.
"A thief! Catch the man!"
The man runs around the crowded home
in a circular motion.
Why doesn't he run away from here?
I follow with my eyes.
The man no longer has the luggage.
Already handed over to his companion.
There is no physical evidence to arrest him.
I have high distrust of foreigners.
