まだ上京したばかりの頃、週に土日の二日間だけ
浅草の遊園地「花やしき」でアルバイトをしていた。
その日は「バスケットボール」の担当だった。
三個のボールをゴールに投げ込むと
ゴールした数により賞品がもらえる。
あまり人気のないコーナーだった。
幼い姉妹が近寄ってきた。
「これ、どうやって遊ぶの？」
質問に対して親切に教えてやった。
なにしろ暇なのだ。
「ふーん」
どうやらゲーム券を持っていないらしい。
「いいよ。ただでやらせてあげる」
「ほんと？」
「うん、本当」
なにしろ、他に客がいないのだ。
ボールを渡してやると、妹が礼を言う。
「おじさん、ありがとう」
さすがにショックだった。
とりあえず、まだ十代の青年だったから。
そんなこと気にもせず
姉妹はボールを投げ始める。
こっちは床に落ちたボールを拾い、
それを彼女たちに一個ずつ差し出す。
なかなかゴールに入らなかった。
「あっ、入った！」
「あっ、また入った！」
やがて偶然ながら
三個投げて二個入った。
二等賞のマスコット人形を差し出す。
「おめでとう」
「えっ、これ、もらっていいの？」
「うん、いいよ」
なにしろ自分が損するわけじゃない。
「おじさん、ありがとう」
すぐに姉がフォローしてくれた。
「おじさんじゃなくて、おにいさんよ」
さすが年上だけのことはある。
「おもしろかった」
「よかったね」
「じゃあね、バイバイ」
「バイバイ」
姉妹は向こうへ行ってしまった。
なかなか楽しかったな、と思う。
それに、なかなかかわいらしい姉妹だった。
ふたりが大人になったら、どんなふうになるんだろう。
今のことを覚えていてくれるかな。
そんなことをぼんやり考えていた。

なんだろうと思ったら、ちょっと離れたところに
あの姉妹の姿があった。
どうやらふたりの母親らしい。
「これ、どうぞ飲んでください」
缶ジュースを差し出すのだった。
「どうもすみません。いただきます」
姉妹に手を振ってやる。
笑ってる。
缶ジュースをしみじみと味わって飲んだ。
なんということもない話だけど
自分にとっても、彼女たちにとっても
良い思い出になったのではないかな、と思う。

Sisters in an Amusement Park
When I just came to Tokyo, I was working part-time
in an amusement park "Hanayashiki" at Asakusa,
only for two days on weekends on weekends.
That day I was in charge of "basketball".
Throw three balls into the goal,

It was a less popular corner.
Two young sisters came in.

I kindly taught questions.

I picked up the balls that fell to the floor
and kept delivering it to them one by one.
The balls didn't quite get into the goal.

By chance, they threw three of them and two entered.
I offered a second prize mascot doll.
"Congrats."
"Well, can I have this?"
"yep, OK."
It does not mean I lose anything.
"Uncle, thank you."
The older sister followed immediately.
"He is not his uncle, he is a big brother."
As expected she is just older.
"It was fun."
"Good for you."
"Well, bye bye."
"Bye bye."
The sisters have gone over.
I think it was quite fun.
Besides, they were quite pretty sisters.
What will happen if the two become adults?
Will they remember this now?
I was thinking idly of such a thing.
Because I was free.
After a while, a woman came.
"Thank you very much."
When I thought of that,
there were the sisters at a distance.
Apparently she seems to be their mother.
"Please, drink this, please."
She gave me the can juice.
"Thank you very much."
I waved to the sisters.
They are smiling.
I tasted and drank canned juice.
It is nothing strange,
but I think that it was a good memory
for both myself and for them.
