私の目の前には化粧台がある。
なかなか立派な代物。
実際、高かった。
風水によると
「きちんとした化粧台でメイクをしないとブスになる」
のだそうだ。
通勤途中の電車内は勿論
洗面所なんかで立ったままチャチャっとやってはいけない。
電車は乗り物。
洗面所は化粧と汚れと厄を落とす場所。
どちらも化粧をする場所ではないのだ。
だから私は
この立派な化粧台の前で化ける。
いい女になる。
でも、哀しいことに
化粧台の真ん中の大きな鏡は
ひどく歪んでいるのだ。
そのため、せっかくの私の顔が
ひどく歪んで見える。
まるで男の顔。
実際、私の体は男なのだから
仕方ないことではあるけれど････
でも、心は女。
鏡に向かって問いかける。
「鏡よ鏡、鏡さん。
世界で一番美しいのはだあれ？」
やっぱり鏡は優しくて
なんにも答えてくれない。
けれど、私の心を
忠実に反射させてくれる。
歪んだ私の美しい心を
醜く
とても醜く
私に見せつけてくれる。

There is a dressing table in front of me.
It is quite a good substitute.
