出勤途中、いやなものを踏んでしまった。
近眼乱視のくせにメガネをかけないせいだ。
ガムじゃなかった。
犬の糞でもなかった。
なんと言えばいいのかよくわからないけれども
とにかく、それをしっかり踏んでしまった。
急いでいたので確認する暇もなかった。
（ああ、遅刻しちゃう！）
そして、朝から晩まで会社で働かされた。
くたくたに疲れてしまった。
朝の出来事など、すっかり忘れていた。
帰宅途中の夜道は暗かった。
痴漢に襲われてもおかしくなかった。
「踏んだわね」
女の声がした。
なんだか変な声。

あたりを見まわしても人影はない。

倒れた人物の手のひらを踏んでいることに
やっと私は気づいた。

私は急いで足を上げた。
すると、その男か女か
よくわからない人物は上体を起こし
血を吐きながら笑った。
