ここは山の中。
とうの昔に廃線となった駅。
今は草木が茂り、錆びたレールを隠している。
さきほど汽笛が聞こえたような気がしたが
おそらく空耳であろう。
脱線事故やら人身事故が頻発し、
それら諸事情により使われなくなって久しい。
もともとは炭鉱のための線路であった。
草木に埋もれる前に時代に埋もれてしまったわけだ。
駅のホームから下の線路に降りてみる。
おそるおそる茂みを掻き分けて歩く。
すぐにレールを見つけることができた。
意外に原型を留めている。
そんなに錆びてもいない。
まるで、つい最近、列車が通過したような････
ふと、このレールの上に石ころを載せてみたくなった。
今、石ころを載せたため、昔、脱線事故が起きた。
歪んだ時空を運行する四次元鉄道。
そんな想像をしてみたのだった。
再び、汽笛の音を聞いたような気がした。
それは空耳ではなかった。
奇妙な鳥の鳴き声なのであった。
