祭りの日に本屋の町を歩く。
古本祭りをやっていると期待したのだ。
ところが町の様子が様変わり。
店先から本も本棚も消え失せていた。
とりあえず一軒目の店の中に入る。
和服の若い女が数人ばかり。
なんだか場違いな気がして出ようとする。
その時、玄関の履物が気にかかった。
履いているサンダルより良いサンダルがある。
このサンダルに履き替えよう。
サンダルをさりげなく脱ぐ。
すると、若い女主人に呼び止められた。
ちょっと動悸がする。
