朝から晩まであくび姫
医者に診せても止まらない
眠っていてもあくび姫
夜見る夢さえ退屈なのよ
昔、ある国のお城に
あくびばかりしている姫がいました。
毎日が退屈で退屈で
あくびが止まらないのでした。
そんなある日、ある旅の男が城にやってきました。
「お姫様のあくびを止めてさしあげます」
いかにも自信ありそうです。
さっそく姫の前に目通りが許されました。
男は大きなトランクを開けると
姫にそっくりな一人の娘を取り出しました。
「なるほど、わかったわ」
姫はなかなか賢いのでありました。
「その娘に私のあくびを移すわけね」
そして、あくびをひとつ。
「いいえ。お姫様」
男は首を振りました。
「この娘をお姫様の椅子に座らせるのです」
「なるほど。で、私はどうするの？」
「すみませんが、お席を立ってください」
「あら、そうなの。しかたないわね」
姫は立ち上がりながら、あくびをまたひとつ。
空いた姫の椅子に娘が座ると
まるで本物の姫のように見えるのでした。
「それから、どうするの？」
さらに姫は、あくびをもうひとつ。
「お姫様は、この中にお入りください」
男は空のトランクを示すのでした。
「もう、本当にしかたないわね」
なんどもなんどもあくびをしながら
大きなトランクの中に姫は入りました。
男はトランクを閉めると
それを片手で持ち上げました。
「それから、どうするの？」
くぐもった姫の声がかすかに聞こえます。
「これで、おしまいです」
男は大きなトランクを持ったまま
黙って城をあとにしました。
さて、それからというもの
姫の椅子に座った姫そっくりの娘は
あくびどころか、まったくもう
なんにもしないのでした。
やれやれ、ご退屈さま。
