今まで気づかなかった。
僕が寝ている部屋は寝室なのだけれど
じつは、この隣の部屋も寝室だったのだ。
なぜなら夜中にすすり泣く女の声が聞こえる。
ゆらゆら揺れる白いカーテンの向こう側は
てっきり窓の外の風景だとばかり思っていた。
なのに、僕の枕もとから遠くない
こんな近くに見知らぬ女が寝ていたのだ。
紙の鶴を折り始める時のように
そっと布団のはしをめくり上げ
ちょっとだけ上体を起こして
声のする方へ手を伸ばしてみればいい。
白い霧を払うようにカーテンを消し去れば
枕に顔を埋めた女の寝姿が眺められるはずだ。
「おはよう、がいいかな？
それとも、おやすみ？」
なんて
うんと優しい調子で挨拶すれば
彼女、ピクッと背中をふるわせてから
こちらを振り向くだろう。
それから、案外
ちっとも泣いてなかったみたいな顔をして
にっこり笑ってくれるかもしれない。

Next Bedroom
I didn't notice it until now.
The room I'm sleeping in is a bedroom,
but in fact, the room next to it was also a bedroom.

in the middle of the night.

white curtain was the scenery outside the window.
However, a strange woman was sleeping
