芋虫と毛虫が出会いました。
「おい、芋虫」
「なんだ、毛虫」
「おまえ、毛がないな」
「そりゃ、おいら芋虫だもん」
「おれは毛があるぞ」
「そりゃ、あんた毛虫だもん」
「そういうもんか」
「そういうもんさ」
「おまえ、将来なんになるんだ？」
「わからんけど、とりあえずサナギになるんだろな」
「マユとか作るつもりか？」
「まあ、作りたくなったらね」
「それから蝶になるわけか？」
「あるいは蛾かな」
「ふん。つまらん」
「仕方ないだろ、芋虫なんだから」
「決めつけるなよ」
「決めつけなくても、決まってるさ」
「おれは、もっと大きくなってやる」
「大きな毛虫？」
「そう。大きな大きな毛虫になってやる」
「きらわれるだけよ」
「べつに好かれたくなんかないさ」
「毛虫だもんね」
「そう。毛虫だもん」
「でも、そのうち変わっちゃうよ」
「変わるもんか」
「変わるって」
そこに鳥が現れ、餌を見つけました。
Hornworms and Caterpillars
The hornworm and the caterpillar met.
"Hey, hornworm."
"What, caterpillars."
"You have no hair."
"Well, I'm a hornworm."
"I have hair."
"Well, you're a caterpillar."
"Is that so?"
"That's it."
"What will you be in the future?"
"I don't know, but I think
it's going to be a pupa for the time being."
"Are you going to make a cocoon?"
"Well, if I want to make it."
"Then you become a butterfly?"
"Or maybe a moth."
"Hmm. It's boring."
"It can't be helped, because I'm a hornworm."
"Don't decide."
"Even if I don't decide, it's decided."
"I'm going to get bigger."
"Big caterpillar?"
"Yes. I'll be a big big caterpillar."
"Everyone hates you."
"I don't want to be liked by others."
"You are a caterpillar."
"Yes. I'm a caterpillar."
"But you will change soon."
"I will not change."
"You will change."
A bird appeared there and found food.
