「悪魔の証明」とは、完全に否定または肯定することが
実際上ほとんど不可能に近い証明のこと。
たとえば、悪魔の不在を証明できたと確信した途端に
ひょいと悪魔が出現してしまう可能性、なきにしもあらず。
事実、そんなふうに悪魔が目の前に出現したのだ。
「わあ、悪魔だ」
悪魔が顔をしかめる。
「失礼な。普通の人間ですよ」
「ふん。そんなら、自分が悪魔でないことを証明しろ」
「無理おっしゃらないでください」
「で、なんの用だ？」
「貸した金を返してください」
「わあ、やっぱり悪魔だ」

"Devil's proof" is a proof
that is almost impossible to completely deny or affirm in practice.
For example, you probably can not completely deny the possibility
that a devil appears as soon as you are convinced
that you can prove the absence of a devil.
In fact, the demon appeared in front of me like that.
"Wow, it's a devil."
The devil frowns.
"You are rude, I am an ordinary human being."
"Huh, prove that you are not a demon."
"Please do not overdo it."
"So, what is it for?"
