「生命維持管理室」という立派な名称があるにもかかわらず
ここは皆に「死神の部屋」と呼ばれている。
ここでは個々の人間の基本的生命バロメーターが管理されている。
若々しさ、健康、気分、欲望、やさしさ、理性、などなど。
無機質な数値やグラフによって表すことも可能ではあるが
それでは直観的なイメージがつかみにくい。
そのため現在に至るまで、昔からの伝統にのっとり
ロウソクとその炎の状態によってリアルに表示されている。
ロウソクの太さは生命力の強さ、その長さは寿命。
色は人格のようなものに相当する。
そして、そのてっぺんで燃える炎の状態は
まさに今この瞬間における命の燃え具合を示している。
実際に何が行われているかは想像するしかない。
ただし、明るさ、色、勢い、形、それらの変化によって
おおよそのところは察せられる。
この部屋において、これらロウソクとその炎を
一元的に管理しているのが、生命維持管理官たち。
いわゆる死神である。
The Grim Reaper's Room
Everyone calls it "the Grim Reaper's room,"

The thickness of the candle is the strength of its life force,
and its length is its lifespan.
Color corresponds to something like personality.
And the state of the flame burning at the top
shows the burning condition of life at this very moment.
We can only imagine what is actually going on.
However, the brightness, color, momentum, shape,
and their changes can be roughly guessed.
In this room, life support officers are in charge
of centrally managing these candles and their flames.
It is the so-called the Grim Reaper.
