どこかの工場で作業している。
巨大なミシンを連想させる機械の前に
新人の工員と並んで座っている。
水のような液体をなにやら加工してから
次の工程へと送るシステムの一部を管理している。
右隣に座る新人君はミスを連発する。
ガスバーナーの炎が消えていたり
水の流れが止まっていたり、危険極まりない。
私が横からスイッチを入れたり切ったりと
カバーするので大事に至ってないだけだ。
「すみません。すみません」
彼は申し訳なさそうに謝ってばかり。
気持ちわからぬでもないが、謝る暇あったら
手を動かしてもらいたいものである。

Like a Sewing Machine
I am working at a factory somewhere.
I sit side by side with a new worker in front of
a machine reminiscent of a giant sewing machine.
We are managing a part of the system which processes
to the liquid like water and sends it to the next process.
The newcomer sitting on the right side of me
gets mistakes repeatedly.
The flame of the gas burner has disappeared,
the flow of water is stopped, danger is extremely small.
I just do not get caught
because I assist him to switch on and off from the side.
"Sorry. Sorry."
He just apologized to apologize.
It is not impossible to understand his feelings,
but if I have time to apologize to me,
I would like him to move his hand.
