皆と別れて駅前広場に着く。
そこに鼻の欠けたゾウがいた。
このゾウはおれの所有物だった。
少なくとも、おれには監視責任がある。
ゾウは怒っていた。
「ドン」と前足で舗装道路を踏む。
殺すか消すか、とにかく処分せねばなるまい。
おれはゾウを誘導しようとする。
滑り台にぶつけて倒そうと試みる。
だが、うまく誘導できない。
困った。あせる。
あとであの「ドン」の音が火球、
すなわち流れ星の衝撃音だったと知った。
Elephant with a Missing Nose
I was having fun with my friends.
I parted from everyone and arrived
at the station square.
There was an elephant with a missing nose.
This elephant was my property.
At least I'm responsible for oversight.
The elephant was angry.
It steps on the paved road
with "Don" and its front legs.
Either kill or erase,

and knock it down.
