オープンカーで風を切っていた。
助手席ではサングラスの女が脚を組み
ロングヘアーが吹き流しになっていた。
「けどまあ、晴れてよかったな」
声をかけたのに、女は返事をしない。
「おまえ、まだ怒っているのか？」
それでも返事がない。
横を見ると、サングラスがない。
自慢のロングヘアーもない。
整った鼻も唇も、そもそも顔がない。
助手席には首から下だけの女の体。
スパッと水平に首が切れていたのだ。
（かまいたちだ！）
思わず開いた口の中に風が吹き込んだ。
一瞬、視界の端に人影が映った。
急ブレーキを踏む。間に合わない。
はねてしまった！
若い女だった。
ドアを跳び越え、駆け寄る。
即死だった。首が完全に千切れていた。
おれは道端に転がっていた若い女の首を拾い
大急ぎでクルマに戻る。
助手席で脚を組む首のない彼女の上に
拾ったばかりの若い女の首をそっと載せる。
彼女は目をパチクリさせた。
「ああ、びっくりした！」
びっくりしたのはこっちの方だ。
どうやら目撃者はいないようである。
「両手で頭をしっかり押さえておけよ」
すぐにクルマをスタートさせた。
アクセルを踏みながら横を見る。
彼女は両手でしっかり頭を押さえている。
とても素直な子なんだな、と思った。
それに、ショートヘアーも悪くない。
Kamaitachi
