地面に糸が落ちていた。
ありふれた白い糸であった。
ただ、おそろしく長いのだった。
どこまでもどこまでものびている。
その糸の端を持って引っ張ると
スルスルと糸が引きずられてくる。
途中で切れそうな気がして
手に巻きつけながら糸の先を追う。
そのうち、手が痛くなってきた。
手に巻くのは諦め、糸を解き
落ちている糸を目で追うだけにした。
それにしても丈夫な糸だ。
車道を横断しているのに切れていない。
人の足首に絡まっていたりもする。
「あの、足に糸が絡まってますよ」
好みの女性だったから注意してやった。
「あら、気がつかなかったわ」
平気そうな顔をするのだった。
まるで糸なんか見えていないみたいに。
まあ、たしかに、ただの白い糸ではある。
赤い糸なら運命を予感しそうなものだが
そういう期待はできそうになかった。
歩き疲れ、とうとう日が暮れてしまった。
白い糸は暗闇の向こうへ消えている。
しばらく迷ったが、結局、追求は諦めた。
明日からはネクタイ締めて社会人だ。
糸なんか追ってる場合じゃない。
おそらく、どこまでものびているだけだ。
そう自分に言い聞かせ、帰宅した。
それだけ。
つまらない白い糸の話さ。

White Thread
There was a thread on the ground.
It was a common white thread.
However, it was frightfully long.
It extends all the way to far.
Hold the end of the thread and pull it,
the thread will drag forever.
I feel like it will be burned in the middle,
chasing the tip of the thread while wrapping it around my hand.
Eventually my hand began to hurt.
I just gave up winding up,
I solved the thread and chased the falling thread with my eyes.
Even so, it is a strong yarn.
It is not cut to cross the roadway.
It is also entangled with a person's ankle.
"Oh, thread is entangled with your feet"
She was my favorite woman, so I took care of her.
"Oh, I did not notice."
She had a flat face.
It's just like she does not see threads.
Well, indeed, it is just a white thread.
It seemed like a red thread would predict destiny,
but I could not expect such expectation.
I am tired from walking, and the sun has fallen at last.
The white thread disappears beyond the dark.
After a while I got lost, eventually I gave up the pursuit.
From tomorrow I'm tied up and I am a working guy.
