仕事を終え、疲れて家に帰り
風呂に入ったら、浴槽が沈没した。
「おーい、助けてくれー！」
妻が浴室に入ってきた。
「あなた、どうしたの？」
「見てわからんのか」
「わからないわ」
なるほど。
言われてみると、そうかもしれない。
だが、納得してはいけない。
おれは危うく溺れるところだった。
とっさに洗面台にしがみつけたので
なんとか助かったのだ。
浴槽は、もう救いようがなかった。
すっかり沈没してしまった。
なんであれ、沈没してしまった以上
それは事実として認めるしかなかろう。
おれは諦めた。
いつまで眺めていても仕方ない。
とりあえず、今夜のところは
小型の補助浴槽を使うことにしよう。
「明日、救命胴着を買ってくるよ」
「そんなの売ってるかしら」
「ホームセンターのスポーツ用品売り場とか
とにかく、なんとか探してみるさ」
「そうね。見つかるといいわね」
浮き輪も欲しいところだが
季節外れだから、ちょっと無理かもしれない。

Sunken Bathtub
When I finished my work, I got tired and went home
and when I took a bath, the bathtub sunk.
"Hey, please help me!"
My wife came into the bathroom.
"What's wrong with you?"

I grabbed it to the sink basically so I was saved.
I could not save my bathtub anymore.
