しかし、死ぬほど怖い話ではない。
死ねないほど怖い話だ。
つまり死にたくても死ねないのだ。
たとえば、痛み。
虫歯の痛みを思い出していただきたい。
痛い。
とにかく痛い。
時がたつほど痛くなる。
もう気絶するくらい痛い。
ところが、まだ気絶しない。
ますます痛くなる。
もう死ぬほど痛い。
死んだほうが楽なくらい。
ところが、まだ死なない。
もっともっと痛くなる。
信じられないくらい痛い。
もう表現できないくらい痛い。
ところが、まだまだ死ねない。
さらにさらに痛くなる。
どこまでもどこまでも痛くなる。
なのに、いつまでもいつまでも死ねない。
死にたくても死ねない。
終わりなどない。
つまり、無限に痛くなり続ける痛みなのだ。
しかも、痛みだけではないぞ。
かゆみ、苦さ、臭さ、吐き気、疲れ、息苦しさ、
悲しみ、空しさ、いやらしさ、不安、恐怖、絶望、････
ありとあらゆる不快な感覚や感情が
どこまでも悪化してゆく。
やはり終わりがない。
死にたくても死ねない。
ますます不快になるばかり。
無限に不快になり続けるばかり。
まったくどこにも
わずかな救いすらないまま････
どうだ。
不快だろう。
しかし、ここまで聞いたら
もう逃げられないぞ。
覚悟するんだな。
これから、おまえに
死に至らぬ病
その不快極まりない不快が始まる。
