水着に着替えてドアを開けると
海水が家の奥まで押し寄せてきた。
「わあ、冷たい！」
まるで入り江になったみたいだ。
でも、家の中で泳ぐ気はしない。

泥に濁った海水であれば、なおさらだ。
玄関を出ると、庭は海面の下に沈んでいた。
チュ－リップの花が溺れかけてるけど
あれは造花だから別に気の毒じゃない。
たくさんの船の横顔が垣根越しに見える。
道路が狭くて家のすれすれを通るから
見上げるくらい大きくて迫力がある。
オートバイに乗った友だちが手を振る。
「おはよう。元気かい」
「やあ、すてきなバイクだね」
水陸両用の最新型だ。
「折りたたみ式テントが内蔵されているんだよ」
「それはすごいね」
なんとなく感心したけど
でも、どこにテントを張るつもりなんだろう。
「さあ、急ごう」
とりあえず、変な位置の補助席に乗り込む。
「みんな、待ってるかな」
「もちろん、みんな待ってるとも」
手馴れた仕草でビーチパラソルを開く。
真夏の日差しと風を受け
最新式の乗り物が海へと動き始めた。
もっとも近頃、どこもかしこも海なんだけど。
Sea House
