深夜に飲み水を切らしてしまったので
冷蔵庫の冷凍室から氷を取り出して
陶製の器に山盛りにして机の上に置き
しばらく氷がとけて水になるのを待っていた。
すると
ほんのかすかではあるけれど
コソコソと内緒話をしているような
なんとも不思議な音が聞こえてきた。
（氷がとける音だ！）
器をつかんで耳もとに寄せてみると
炭酸水がはじけるような音がする。
そのままスタンドの明かりを消すと
闇の中に
巨大な流氷と流氷がぶつかって
軋むような雄大な音が響いた。
その瞬間
すっかり冷えた陶製の器が
火照った耳たぶに触れ
ひやりとして
乾いた唇から思わず
ため息がもれた。

Sound of Ice
I took out the drinking water at midnight,
so I took the ice from the freezer of the fridge
and heaped up on a ceramic pot and put it on a desk
and waited for a while for the ice
to come out and become water.
Then, although it is faint,
I heard a mysterious sound like a dwarf
is talking about secret.
(This is the melt of ice!)
When I grasp the instrument and pull it to the ear,
I hear a sound like carbonated water starts to splash.
As I kept it off,
the giant drift ice and drift ice bumped into the dark,
and a magnificent grand sound was heard.
At that moment,
a completely cold ceramic pot touched my hot earlobe
and felt cold, I let out a sigh from the dry lips.
