靴音が聞こえる。
踊り場で休んでいるというのに。

石段も石壁も厚く、硬い。

そこは出口か」
渇いた喉の奥から声を絞り出す。
ひび割れた声。
だが、返事はない。
立ち上がる。
膝がきしむ。
階段を上る。
歯を喰いしばる。
「来るな。ここに来てはいけない」
あの声だ。
力なく、弱々しい。
やはり階段の上に誰かいる。
どれくらい上ったろうか。
階段の途中に誰か倒れていた。
冷たい体。
息も脈もない。
汚れた顔。
見覚えのある砕けた両手。

胸が苦しい。
そして、あの声が聞こえてくる。
渇いた喉の奥から絞り出す、ひび割れた声。
「おい。そこにいるのは誰だ。
そこは出口か」
階段の下から。
Ice Stairs
I hear footsteps.
