マサト君という変な大人の知り合いがいて
僕の言う事をちっとも聞いてくれないので
僕は困っているんだけど
その事を友だちの、ええと
友だちなのに名前を忘れちゃって申し訳ない。
その友だちに相談したら
「ああ、それならロンちゃんに頼むといいよ」
と言うんだ。
「ロンちゃん？」
「そう、ロンちゃん」
「何、それ？」
「ほら、そこに手鏡があるだろ」
とコウが
あっ、思い出した。
コウという名前だった。
その友だちのコウが言う通りに
コウの家の座敷の部屋の隅にある
ゴチャゴチャした棚の上みたいなところに
小さな丸い手鏡があって
「しばらく覗いていると出て来るよ」
じっと手鏡の中を覗いていたら
僕の後ろから変な顔の男の子が現れて
僕の肩のところにアゴをのせるみたいにするんだ。
でも肩にはそんな感触、全然なくて
振り向いても誰もいなくて
でも鏡の中にはいるんだ。
「ああ、ロンちゃんだ」
そうだ、そうだ。
昔から知ってる子だった。
久しぶり。
鏡の中のロンちゃんが笑ってる。
そう言えば、ロンちゃんは喋れない子だった。
僕がマサト君の事を相談しようとしたら
どこからか、その本人のマサト君がやって来て
僕の手から手鏡を取り上げて
ロンちゃんと話し始めた。
それで僕は、もう大丈夫だ。
と、すっかり安心してしまって
白いイカのようなプヨプヨしたのに挟まれた
ハンバーグみたいな食べ物を
食べながら待つことにしたんだ。
