この行進から抜け出したい。
けれども、その方法がわからぬ。
少し離れるくらいなら誰でも試みるが
疲弊して引き返すのがオチだ。
なにしろ見渡す限りどこまでも砂漠が広がり
水も食料も、一かけらの希望すら見つからないのだ。
こんな不毛の土地ゆえ行進が始まった
という説がある。
だがむしろ、豊饒の土地が
この果てしない行進によって
長い年月のうちに養分を奪われた
と考えるのが自然だろう。
水は水筒に注がれ、食料は干物にされ
なんとかやり繰りしながら行進を維持しているが
いつまでも続けられる理由はない。
それは行進を続けるひとりひとり
誰もが皆わかっている。
そういうわけで、仕方なく
気の進まぬまま行進しているのが現状だ。
この先まったくもって
なんの進展も見い出せないまま
まるで自分たちの墓穴を掘るように。

Reluctant March
I want to get out of this march.
But I don't know how to do it.
Anyone will try it if it's a little farther away,
but the end result is exhaustion and turning back.
After all, the desert stretches as far as the eye can see,
and we can't find water, food, or even a piece of hope.
There is a theory that the march started
because of such a barren land.
But rather, it is natural to think that
the land of fertility was deprived of nutrients
over the years by this endless march.
Water is poured into water bottles, food is dried,
and they manage to keep the march,
but there is no reason to continue it forever.
Everyone knows it as they continue to march.
That's why the current situation is that
we are unavoidably marching unwillingly.
It's like digging our own grave,
with no progress at all in the future.
