羊毛みたいな白いヒゲがご自慢の
この老いた羊飼いの悩みの種は 眠れないことでした。
「眠れない夜は 羊を数えると 眠れますよ」
近所の奥さんが そう教えてくれました。
「わしは毎日 羊を数えておるよ。
それが わしの仕事じゃからの」
「あら。それじゃ あなた、きっと眠っているんですよ」
そこで目が覚めました。
元旦の朝でした。
これは 羊を数える老いた羊飼いの 初夢だったのです。
