大きな星だった。
「あれが落ちてくるの？」
「うん。あの星が落ちてくる」
「どこかに逃げられないの？」
僕が問いかけると
お父さんは静かに答えてくれた。
「逃げられるけど、どこに逃げても同じらしいよ」
「お父さんは、こわくないの？」
「こわいよ。こわいけど
せっかくだから見ておこうと思って」
「注射されるとき
つい針の先から目がはなせなくなるみたいに？」
「ははっ。まあ、そんなもんだな」
「ロケットで脱出した人もいるんでしょ？」
「ああ、そうらしいね」
「うらやましいな」
「いやいや。
あれはあれでなかなか大変な仕事らしいよ」
「そうかな」
「お父さんなんか、頭が下がるよ」
僕のおなかが鳴った。
「ははっ。夕飯を食べよう。
まだ落ちてくるまで時間あるから」
僕は家に走った。
お母さんが心配して待ってるはずだ。
