胸騒ぎがして急いで帰宅する。
キッチンで男が電気工事をしていた。
見覚えのない男だ。
壁の電灯スイッチのカバーを外している。
ドライバーで作業している状況と服装からして
電気工事士であることが推測される。
「いやいや、どもども、すみません」
などと謝ったのに、作業中の工事士は返事もしない。
約束した時間帯に留守をしていたからなのか
どうやら彼は怒っているらしい。
そう言えば、どうやって彼は留守宅に侵入したのだろう。
カバーを外した部分に小さい傷口みたいな穴が見える。
かなり危険な状態であることは素人目にもわかる。
ところで、キッチンの奥には小さなテーブルがある。
その近くに幼なじみの友人のように思える男がいる。
そして、テーブルを挟んで向かい側には少女。
おそらく友人の娘であろう。
かわいらしい顔立ちではあるが
発達障害なのか、それとも見た目よりも幼いのか。
しきりに体を動かしながら歌うように喋り続けている。
何を言っているのかさっぱりわからない。
ぼやけて見える表情にも奇妙な印象を受ける。
見続けていてもなかなか見飽きない。
どうやら工事は長引きそうである。

Electrical Worker
I get upset, so I hurry home.
A man was doing electrical work in the kitchen.

on the wall.

because I was away during the promised time.

And there was a girl across the table.

or younger than she looks?
