クルマに轢かれて死ぬと「さすが天才らしい最期だ」などと喜ばれた。
哲学者ソックリデスが語った数々の話の中に
有名な「非天才の天才」がある。
「私は自分が天才でないことを知っている。
私は世間で天才と評判の多くの人たちと会って話をした。
すると、彼らの誰ひとりとして天才でないことがわかった。
ところが、彼らは自分が天才でないことがわかっていない。
私は考えた。
私も彼らも天才ではない。
しかし、自分が天才でないことをわかっているのは私だけだ。
ゆえに、私は彼らよりいくらか天才なのだ」
そもそも哲学をする人は誰でも天才なので
ソックリデスは今でも天才哲学者と呼ばれている。
これが天才の世界である。

He was called a genius.
He called his wife a genius wife,
his son a genius son,
his daughter a genius daughter,
and his parents a genius father
and a genius mother.
When he drove a car,
he was called a genius driver,
and when he had an accident,
he was praised, saying, "Genius is radical."
When he walked down the street,
he was called a genius pedestrian,
and when he fell,
he was impressed by the fact
that he was a genius-like failure.
When he was sleeping on a pedestrian crossing,
he was called a genius sleeper.
Among the many stories told
by philosopher Sockrides is
the famous "genius not a genius."
"I know I'm not a genius.
I met and talked with many people in the world
who were geniuses and reputations.
Then I found that none of them was a genius.
However, they do not know they are not geniuses.
I considered.
Neither me nor they are geniuses.
But I'm the only one who knows I'm not a genius.
So I'm a little more genius than them."
Sockrides is still called a genius philosopher,
because anyone who does philosophy is
a genius in the first place.
