半魚人が死ぬ時、すべての大地が海に沈む。
幼かった頃、そんな伝説を聞いたことがある。
その夜、怖くて眠れなかったものだ。
伝説には何かしら意味があるという。
有名な人魚の伝説にも何かしら意味があろう。
人魚は、上半身が人間で下半身が魚。
半魚人は、上半身が魚で下半身が人間。
人魚は女性で、半魚人は男性。
そう決まってはいないが、逆の場合は想像しにくい。
どちらも架空の生物である。
実際問題、ちっとも気にすることはない。
ところが今日、その半魚人が死んでしまった。
きっと今夜、眠れないだろう。
架空の大地がすべて架空の海に沈んでしまう。
A Merman's Death
When a merman dies,
all the earth sinks into the sea.
When I was young, I've heard such a legend.
That night I was scared and could not sleep.
There is something meaningful in the legend.
A famous mermaid legend may have some meaning.
The mermaid is a human being
and the lower body is a fish.
The merman is a fish in the upper body
and a human being in the lower body.
Mermaid is female, merman is male.
It's not decided as such,
but the opposite case is hard to imagine.
Both are imaginary creatures.
In fact, there is nothing to worry about at all.
However, today the merman died.
Surely I'll not be able to sleep tonight.
All fictitious grounds will sink into the imaginary sea.
