ドーナツの穴はあるか？
という問題。
ドーナツにはドーナツゆえに穴があるとしても
そのドーナツを抜きにして穴はあるか？
この問題は次の問いを連想させる。
笑顔はあるとして
そこから顔を抜きにした笑いはあるか？
顔がなくても笑い声がある以上
顔を抜きにしても笑いは残りそうである。
それは物理的な時空にではなく
個人的な意識の場にイメージとして浮かぶ。
詰まるところ我々の意識はドーナツたり得ず
せいぜいがドーナツの穴、というところか。

Is there a hole in the donut?
It's a problem.
Even if a donut has a hole because it is a donut,
is there a hole without the donut?
This problem is
reminiscent of the following question.
If there is a laughing face here,
is there laughing without the face?
As long as there is a laughing voice
even without a face,
laughing is likely to remain even without a face.
It comes to mind as an image
in a place of personal consciousness,
not in physical space-time.
At the end of the day,
our consciousness can't be a donut,
and at best it's a hole in a donut.
