ところが、その最中に殺人事件が起きた。
誰が殺されたのか、その現場を含めて曖昧なまま
さる大御所の棋士と一緒に廊下を歩いている。
対局室の障子に灯りが映っている。
大御所が入口の戸を開ける。
対局者はいない。
たくさんの脱ぎ捨てられた靴下が散乱している。
対局はテレビで生中継放映されたはずだが
視聴者を完全にあざむいてしまったかのようである。
「なるほど、皆はこの靴下に騙されたわけだな」
大御所、さすが読みの入った犯行だと感心しきり。
