二階の床でもある天井から顔が垂れてくる。
水道の蛇口から垂れんとする水滴のような顔。
その両目は仏像のように閉じられていた。
その顔の人物が本屋の店主であるような気がする。
「これこれこういう本を探しているのですが」
と問えば、店番の店主「それそれそこにありますよ」
指で差された方角にある本棚から一つかみ
片手に文庫本の束を取り出せば、いわゆる成人向け。
「いやいやこれではありません」と戻そうとすれど
それを戻す棚の隙間、すでに見当たらず。
自作自演。
