電車に乗ったりクルマやバスに乗ったりして
寝たり起きたりしながら旅をしていた。
途中、知り合いに会えたので、尋ねてみた。
「一緒に連れてってもらったあそこは
あんな町名だったけど、どこだったっけ？」
知り合いは有名な島の名前を言う。
確かに、あの島にはそんな町名があった。
「まさか」おれは驚く。
これっぽっちも船に乗った記憶がないからだ。
「かなり高い山に登ったじゃないか」
ロープウェイに乗った映像記憶がある。
「あれはあの島で一番高い山だよ」
「しかし････」あれこれ反論を試みる。
「おまえ、眠ってるうちにフェリーに乗せられたのさ」
「えー、そうなのかな」
どうにも納得できない。
だが、そういうことでもなければ辻褄が合わない。
「だいたい、おまえは迷子になりすぎるよ」
言われてみれば、確かに。

Lost Master
I was traveling on the train,
in the car or on the bus, sleeping and waking up.
I met an acquaintance on the way, so I asked.
