朝から知り合いがふたりやってきた。
和室の畳を一枚はがして、床板になにか敷き
いわく言いがたい工作をしている。
習字のようでもあり、種まきのようでもある。
しかし、どちらとも違うようだ。
その作業がとりあえず済み、ふたりは帰る。
「おじゃましました」
和室に戻ってみると、畳が異様にゆがんでいる。
工作した上に、そのまま畳をのせたのだ。
あいつら、しくじったな。
そう察して、あわてて畳をはぐ。
やはりあいつら、とんでもない。
工作した上に寝具まで敷いてある。
そのため、枕や布団が濡れてしまった。
やれやれ、余計なことをしてくれたものだ。
これだから素人の工作員はいけない。

Two Operatives
Two of my acquaintances came from the morning.
They peel off a tatami mat in a Japanese-style room
and lay something on the floorboard
to do something that is hard to say.
