曲がった人の列が三本できている。
平行でも直線でもなく、間隔が空いている。
分離したばかりの染色体を連想する。
診察しているのは白衣を着た白人女医だった。
列の先頭の患者の口の中を覗いている。
どの列に並ぶべきか、悩ましい。
早く済ませたいが、順番があろう。
眺めているうち、診察は流れるように進む。
列は一本だけになった。
で、その最後尾に並ぶ。
待つ間、考えないわけにいかない。
アメリカでは
インフルエンザで毎年数万人が亡くなるそうだ。
日本では
毎年1千万人前後、10人に１人がインフルエンザに感染。
毎年3千人以上の人がインフルエンザで亡くなるそうだ。
また、インフルエンザにかかわらず
今、日本では13人に1人が肺炎で亡くなるとのこと。
老人が肺炎で亡くなりやすい。
人口爆発中の人類にとって間引きとなろう。
指摘されねば気づかぬ脅威などいくらでもある。
人類は文明による暴走を制御できていない。
自然に任せておいてかまわない気がする。
どうせ死ぬ身の老人の一人として。
Infection Investigation
I arrived at a facility like a warehouse.
It seems to be for influenza infection investigation.
I go into a whitish, murky room.
There are three rows of bent people.
They are neither parallel nor straight,
they are spaced apart.
Reminiscent of a chromosome
that has just been separated.
A white female doctor in a white lab coat
was consulting.
She is looking into the mouth of the patient
at the head of the line.
I'm wondering which line to line up.
I want to finish it early, but there is a turn.
As I look, the consultations flow.

And I line up at the end.
While waiting, I cannot help but think.
In the US, flu kills tens of thousands every year.
In Japan, influenza affects about 10 million people
and 1 in 10 people every year.
More than 3,000 people die from the flu every year.
Regardless of influenza, one in 13 people in Japan
now dies from pneumonia.
Older people are more likely to die of pneumonia.
It will be a decimation for the human population
in the population explosion.
There are a number of threats
that will not go unnoticed unless pointed out.
Humanity has no control over runaway civilization.
I feel like we can leave it to nature.
As one of the old men who die anyway.
