窓から見える冬の雪国の風景。
屋根の上に分厚い積雪が残っている。
なにやら鋭い音がした。
自然現象でなく、もっと人工的な音。
誰かが何かの実験をしているようだ。
今は思い出せないが、その時には心当たりあった。
やがて自宅の大屋根の積雪が滑り始める。
いくつかのまとまった塊となって転がり落ちた。
大砲の弾丸のように飛び出た感じ。
斜め下の近所の家の屋根や壁に衝突する。
家の形がゆがむほどの衝撃。
瓦や壁が無傷のままということはあるまい。
「ここが下にある家でなくてよかったね」
そんなことを、近くにいる兄に話しかけている。
Snow Drop

Thick snow remains on the roof.
There was a sharp sound.
A more artificial sound, not a natural phenomenon.
Someone seems to be experimenting
with something.
I can't remember now, but I knew it at that time.
Eventually, the snow on the big roof of my house
begins to slip.
It rolled down into several chunks.
They feel like they pop out like cannon bullets.
They collide with the roofs and walls
of neighboring houses diagonally below.
The shock that the shape of the house is distorted.
The tiles and walls are never left intact.
"I'm glad it wasn't the house below."
