わが家の台所で近所の女が農作業している。
床板にいくつも穴を掘り、種を植えたところ。
女は包丁の腹で土混じりの床板を叩く。
地面として平らにしているのだろう。
「包丁が切れなくなっちゃうね」
「いいのよ。切れなくても使えるから」
女は地面から現れた黄色い虫を逃がす。
おれは虫を追い、借りた包丁で叩きつぶした。
また一匹、肌色の虫が逃げる。
おれは足と目で追う。
ボウフラみたいな形状。
すばやい動きに翻弄される。
なんとか追い詰めたが、まだ退治できない。
Kitchen Field
A woman in the neighborhood is farming
in my kitchen.
She dug holes in the floorboards
and planted seeds.
She hits the soil-mixed floorboard
with the belly of her knife.
It's probably flattened as the ground.
"You can't cut the knife."
"It's okay. I can use it even if it doesn't cut."
She escapes the yellow bug
that emerged from the ground.
I chased the bug
and smashed it with a borrowed knife.
Another one, the flesh-colored insect escaped.
I follow with my feet and eyes.
It was shaped like a bow hula.
I am at the mercy of that quick move.
I managed to hunt it down,
but I still can't get rid of it.
