駅の自動改札が詰まっていた。
誰かが不正な定期券を使ったらしい。
おれはすぐ隣の改札に定期券をかざして通過した。
利用客と駅員の言い争う声が聞こえる。
「もういいから定期券を返してくれ」
「一度使ったので、ただでは返せません。
身分を確認できる証明書を見せてください」
かなり進んでいるのに、まだ声が聞こえる。
「あなた、ちょっと待ってください」
追いついた男が紙切れを差し出した。
「あなたの改札通過が無効になっているので
これに必要事項を書いて提出してください」
ああ、そういうものなのか、と思って
その紙切れを受け取ってしまった。
Rite of Passage
The automatic ticket gates at the station were clogged.
Someone seems to have used an illegal commuter pass.
I passed by holding the commuter pass
over the next ticket gate.
I can hear the quarrel between the passengers
and the station staff.
"Please return the commuter pass because it's okay."
"I can't give it back once you've used it.
Show me a proof of your identity."
I'm pretty advanced, but I can still hear their voice.
"Wait a minute, you."
The man who caught up with me
offered a piece of paper.
"Your ticket gate passage is invalid,
so please fill in and submit it."
Oh, I wondered if that was the case,
and I received the piece of paper from him.
