ある山の麓に泉があった。
ただの泉ではなかった。
湧き出る水を飲めばどんな病気でも治る。
そういわれていた。
仙人も山から飲みにおりてくる。
そんな言い伝えさえあるほどだった。
「けほん、けほん、けほん」
ある晩、山の仙女が麓までおりてきた。
「あーあ、霞が喉に詰まっちゃった」
美しい横顔を月の光が照らしていた。
それを見てしまったのが、村の若者。
「ああ、仙女様。おらの嫁さなっておくれ」
曇ったしわを眉間に寄せ、真剣な表情。
そう、若者は恋に落ちてしまったのだ。
仙女は、泉の水を手にすくって飲んだ。
それから、にっこりと微笑むと
村の若者にもすすめた。
若者はおそるおそる仙女に近づき
その白い手を器にして泉の水を飲んだ。
すると、若者の表情は晴れやかになった。
「ああ、仙女様。おら、嫁なんぞいらねえよ」
