ある暑い夏の昼下がりのことでした。
私は縁側で裸のまま昼寝をしていました。
まるで風というものがないのでした。
とても寝苦しかったことを覚えています。
うつらうつらとまどろみかけた時
蝉の鳴き声のような猫の鳴き声を聞きました。
あるいは、猫の鳴き声のような蝉の鳴き声
であったかもしれません。
庭を見ると、一匹の猫がいるのでした。
その狭い額に一匹の蝉がとまっていました。
これは蝉猫とでも呼ぶしかありません。
手招きすると、蝉猫は公園へ逃げました。
私の家の庭には垣根というものがなく
そのまま隣の公園へ続いているのです。
公園のベンチには老人が腰掛けていました。
めらめら燃える麦わら帽子をかぶったままの
その老人が眼を凝らしているのは
顔が溶接された若い男女のカップルでした。
もっと若いカップルもいました。
砂場では男の子が磔ごっこに夢中で
逆さ十字架の上で女の子が泣いていました。
そんな公園風景をぼんやり眺めながら
ふと気づくのは、視界の大いなる傾きでした。
脇腹まで腰が縁側に沈んでいるのでした。
年月を経た床板は涼しく感じられました。
歪んだ木目がたまらなく愛しくなり
私はそっと頬を押し当ててみたのでした。

Cicada Cat
It was a late afternoon in a hot summer.
I was taking a nap while being naked on the rim.
There was nothing like a wind.
I remember being very hard to sleep.
When I slumbered with a crowd,
I heard the cry of the cat which is also like cicadas crying.
Or maybe it was a cicada's cry as it sounds like a cat's cry.
Looking at the garden, there was a cat.
There was a cicada on a narrow forehead of the cat.
This is nothing but calling Cicada Cat.
When beckoning, Cicada Cat ran to the park.
There is no fence in my garden,
and it continues to the neighboring park as it is.
An old man was sitting on the park bench.
It was a couple of young men and women
whose faces were welded,
while the old man kept his eyes staring on
a straw burning straw hat.
There were also younger couples.
In the sandbox the boy was crazy about the crucifixion,
the girl was crying on the cross overhead.
While gazing at the park landscape gently,
it was a great tilt of sight to notice sometimes.
My waist was sinking to the rim until the flank.
The floorboard passed years ago was felt cool.
The distorted grain did not irresistibly become love,
I gently pressed my cheek.
