ゲンブリオ山脈を越えた者は
いまだかつていない。
例外としては
特殊な渡り鳥くらいだろう。
この渡り鳥は
上昇気流を上手に使う。
らせん状に旋回しながら
とんでもない高度にまで達する。
上昇気流の助けがなければ越せないのだ。
しかも、一年に一回のチャンスしかない。
それを逃がしたら渡れない。
死んでしまう。
まさに必死のゲンブリオ山脈越えなのだ。
たとえ必死になっても
私には越せない。
高くて、大きくて
険しくて、苦しくて
見上げるだけで呆れ返ってしまう。
もう私なんか
見上げてすぐに諦めてしまった。
それでも私は
ゲンブリオ山脈が大好きだ。
あんまり大きすぎて
抱きしめられないのが
とても残念だ。

Gembrio Mountains
No one has crossed the Gembrio Mountains yet.
The only exception would be
a special migratory bird.
This migratory bird uses updrafts well.
It reaches a tremendous altitude
while spirally turning.
It can't be crossed without the help of updrafts.
Moreover, there is only one chance per year.
It can't cross if it escapes.
It will die.
It's a desperate crossing
of the Gembrio Mountains.
Even if I'm desperate, I can't overcome it.
It's high, big, rugged, painful,
and I'm stunned just looking up at it.
I looked up at it, and immediately gave up.
Still, I love the Gembrio Mountains.
