よりによって水の女神に恋をしたのだ。
でも、火の神は水の女神に近寄れない。
水の女神に触れると火の神は消えてしまうから。
神殿の柱の陰に隠れ、黙って離れて見つめるだけ。
とても熱い視線だが、それが水の女神には疎ましい。
じっと火の神に見つめられると、透明な肌に泡が立つ。
どうしようもない片想い。
そんな火の神に同情する神々も多かった。
油の神も、そのひとり。
こっそり女神の寝室に忍び込み
眠れる水の女神に油を注いでやったのだ。
これで水の女神に触れても
火の神が消えてしまう心配はなくなった。
けれども、そのため
その神の恋の炎が消えてしまった。
そりゃそうだ。
