暗いオフィスの狭い一室である。
中央にデスクが寄せ集められ
その上にコンロがいくつか置かれ
丸底の黒い鉄鍋が火にかけられている。
すぐに湯を沸かす必要が先ほどまであったはずだが
なぜか今、おいしそうな鍋料理を煮ている。
デスクに座った数人の従業員たちは呆れ顔だ。
他にひとつ土鍋もあったので
水を入れ、別のコンロで温め始める。
階下からアルミ鍋を持って先輩社員が現れた。
「すまん。ちょっと使わせてよ」
そのままコンロに点火して手持ちの鍋を置く。
階下の部屋にはコンロがないようだ。
なんとなく貧しさを感じてしまう。
電気保温ポットが故障しているとしても
湯沸しより急がれる仕事がないのだろうか。
そろそろ土鍋の湯を使いたいのだが
取っ手が熱くて素手では持ち上げにくい。
隣室に入り、手頃なものはないかと探す。
使われることなく、ほこりをかぶったデスクの群。
殺伐とした広い室内には誰もいない。
ゴーストタウンを連想させる。
粗品の社名入りタオルを見つけたところで
後輩社員が土鍋を素手で持って現れた。
「手、熱くないの？」
「平気です」
かなり無理しているような気がする。

Hot Pot Office

I'm cooking a delicious hot pot dish.
A few employees sitting at the desk look terrified.
There was another clay pot, so I put water in it
and started heating it on another stove.
A senior employee appeared from downstairs
with an aluminum pot.
"Sorry. Let me use it."
He ignites the stove and puts the pot on hand.
There seems to be no stove in the room downstairs.
Somehow I feel poor.
Even if the electric insulation pot is out of order,
I wonder if there is more urgent work
than boiling water.
I want to use the hot water in the clay pot,
but the handle is hot
and it is difficult to lift with bare hands.
I entered the next room
and searched for something affordable.
A group of dusty desks that are not used.
There is no one in the slaughtered large room.
Reminiscent of a ghost town.
When I found a crude towel with a company name,
a junior employee showed up holding a clay pot
with his bare hands.
"Is your hand not hot?"
"I'm fine."
I feel like he's overdoing it.
