庭で草を刈っていたら
うっかり小人の首まで刈ってしまった。
「いやあ、ごめんごめん」
私は素直に謝る。
「まったく、気をつけてもらわなきゃ困るな」
「だって君たちときたら、あまりにも小さいんだもん」
「ふん。そっちが大き過ぎるんだよ」
小人は自分の頭を拾いながら文句を言う。
それにしても、小人の生命力はすごい。
首の切断面がふくらんで、もう小さな頭が生えている。
「その取れちゃった頭はどうするんだい？」
私が尋ねると、小人の新旧ふたつの頭は相談を始めた。
人間には聞き取れない甲高い言葉が飛び交う。
ようやく相談がまとまったらしい。
双子のコーラスみたいに声をそろえ
「今晩のおかず」
どうも小人の考えることはわからない。

Dwarf Head
When I was cutting grass in the garden,
I inadvertently cut the dwarf's neck.
"Hey, sorry."
I apologize honestly.
"At all, you have to be careful."
"Because when you guys are, it's too small."
"Hm. You're too big."
The dwarf complains while picking up his head.
Even so, the vitality of dwarfs is amazing.
The cut on his neck is puffy
and a small head is already growing.
"What do you do with that lost head?"
When I asked,
the two heads of the dwarf began to consult.
High-pitched words that humans cannot hear fly around.
It seems that the consultation has finally been finalized.
They keep their voices together like a twin chorus.
"Tonight's side dish"
I don't know what the dwarf thinks.
