きつねも通る
笛太鼓の音頭とともに
町内会の神輿が家の前の通りを通る。
ゆっくり走行するお囃子のトラックの後に
大人神輿と子ども神輿、および父兄の集団が続く。
その前後左右には町内会の役員の方々。
まことにご苦労なことだと思う。
この神輿がどこから来て、どこへ行くのか
また、どのような意味があるのか、じつはよく知らない。
おそらく普段は、近所の神社に納められているのだろう。
毎年、いくばくか神社奉賛会費なるものを支払わされている。
神社では獅子舞の見世物もあるそうだが
わざわざ行くのも億劫なので、まだ見物したことはない。
それはともかく、なんだかおかしい。
神輿を担ぐ人々の中に狐がいる。
大人神輿にも子ども神輿にも、どちらも一匹ずつ。
お面ではない。
着ぐるみでもない。
犬が立ったみたいな形の、本物っぽい狐だ。
目が悪いので、なにかの錯覚だろうか。
デジカメで写真を撮ろうとしたところ
いくら探してもファインダーの中に狐の姿が見つからない。
とりあえず、狐がいたあたりを撮りまくる。
当然ながら、と言うべきか、やはり
どの静止画像にも狐の姿は写っていなかった。
つまり、なんということはない。
いたずら好きな狐に化かされたのだ。
そもそも、あの神社は稲荷神社ですらない。

Neighborhood association portable shrine passes
along the street in front of my house
with the sound of the flute drum.
A slow-moving musical accompaniment track
is followed by an adult portable shrine,
a child portable shrine, and a group of parents.
Neighborhood association officers accompany
before, after, right and left.
I think they are really hard.
I don't really know
where this portable shrine comes from,
where it goes, and what it means.
Perhaps usually it is stored in a nearby shrine.
We pay some shrine sponsorship dues each year.
There is also a lion dance spectacle at the shrine,
but it has been a hassle to go to it,
so I haven't seen it yet.
Anyway, it's kind of strange.
A fox is among the people
who carry the portable shrine.
Both adult and child portable shrine, one by one.
It is not a mask.
Not a costume.
A real fox that looks like a dog standing.
Is it an illusion because my eyes are bad?
I tried to take a picture with a digital camera,
but no matter how much I looked,
I could not find a fox in the viewfinder.
For the time being,
I shoot around where the fox was.
Needless to say,
none of the still images showed a fox.
That is, nothing.
A mischievous fox teased me.
In the first place, that shrine is not Inari Shrine.
